The City of Pickens is located in the foothills of South Carolina with highways 183(Main St) and 178 intersecting near the center of town approxiamately 2 hrs from Atlanta Ga. and Charlotte NC. A small town of just over 3,000 residents it is the "county seat" of Pickens County. Pickens City is the home of the Pickens Azalea Festival and the BlueRidge Festival.
In an effort to conserve fuel the Police Department has purchased a 2008 Chevrolet Impala with police package. Not only was there a great savings in the purchase price but the mpg will be greatly improved.
